Job Description:Kentz currently has a requirement for a Senior Engineer – Mechanical Rotating, based in Doha.
Responsibilities:
Ensure continuous implementation within discipline of the Company engineering systems & procedures, Company HSE / Quality Assurance and Controls.
Reports directly to the Principal Engineer although the Senior Engineer may be required to take a Principal Engineer role on certain projects/work packages.
Evaluation of vendor offers and preparation of technical queries, technical bid evaluations.
Resolve queries from clients.
Preparation of estimation for cost, engineering man-hour, Histograms and preliminary weights and dimensions of proposed equipment.
Planning and participating in Vendor factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance test (SAT).
Manage and work independently with minimal supervision.
Preparation of data sheets, specifications, Material Specification for Rotating Equipment such as pumps, compressors, gas turbines, steam turbines, power generators, injection packages, agitators and packages like instrument air generation, nitrogen generation, E.O.T. cranes, cooling towers, etc.
Job Requirements:
Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
The candidate shall have a minimum of 12 to 15 years’ experience in the execution of EPC or turnkey projects related to the Oil & Gas, Petrochem and/or Power Industries with both design office and site experience. The experience shall include at least 10 years of detail engineering experience, preferably in a contractors design office or similar.
This is a Senior Discipline role and the candidate shall have previous experience working in the field of Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and/or Power projects in senior role for at least 6 years. The candidate shall have excellent fundamental knowledge with strong communications, leadership and management.
Highly self-motivated and strong professional judgement.
Excellent computer literacy – must have an excellent working knowledge of MS Office packages. (MS word, Excel, Access and Power Point), with the ability to produce reports, specifications and calculation notes etc. in a given agreed structured and presentable format.
Work within a multi-discipline engineering team and to execute and co-ordinate inter-discipline engineering designs and checks.
Must have the ability to plan/schedule, organize, manage, coordinate, the design and checking activities of a team of engineers to meet Kentz requirements.
Strong communication skills – communicate proficiently with Clients, Contractors and Vendors with regard to all Mechanical Rotating Engineering related matters, on behalf of the Company.
Ability and commitment to execute all works in accordance with Client and Company HSE and QA policy & procedures.
Must have proven understanding of International Codes and Standards and have applied these in previous roles.
Must have accomplished, credentialed Design Engineering Experience carried out FEED, Proposal and Detail Engineering
Middle East Experience desired.
Offshore experience in design desired.
