Doha Festival City (DHFC) was abuzz with activity last Thursday as thousands of excited children gathered with their families to celebrate Garangao. This local tradition brings families and children together to celebrate reaching mid-Ramadan and reward the little ones for their effort.
The event started on the ground floor at the mall’s Luxury area, where children were given maps showing routes to retailers distributing treats.
Participants included Lego, Abercrombie & Fitch, Body & Bath Works, FNAC, Salam Kido, Daiso, Giftshed, Choice, Riva, Riva Kids, GAP, Banana Republic, Angry Birds World and Virtuocity. “We aim to create memorable moments for all our visitors, especially in Ramadan, and that includes these heart-warming, excited children. Garangao is a traditional activity and we are keen on joining the people of Qatar in their special celebrations,” DHFC general manager Robert Hall said.
“I am very happy to see everyone enjoying the holy month of Ramadan and we look forward to welcoming all of Doha to our upcoming Eid and summer events,” he added.
