Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct investigations into and case manage including preparation of reports on  disputes between services providers and service providers others 
  • Case manage litigation matters including liaison with external counsel
  • Develop guidelines, processes and formal legal instruments for matters related to dispute resolution
  • Represent the Regulatory Authority in disputes and litigation matters whenever necessary. 
  • Develop criteria and mechanism for referring decisions of the Regulatory Authority to an appeals body.    
  • Initiate and carryout all necessary enforcement action permitted under the applicable regulatory framework
  • Provide legal advice on all matters related to telecommunication matters

Desirable Skills and Competencies:

  • Ten (10) years post-qualification experience within a telecommunications regulatory and industry environment.
  • A law degree from a recognized university. Post-graduate studies in law or related discipline
  • Wide experience dealing with parties to a dispute (including consumers) and those representing them, mediators, arbitrators and the judiciary
  • Drafting of legal instruments, case reports, consultation papers etc.
  • Able to work under pressure with quick turnaround ability
