Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in investigations into and case manage including preparation of reports on disputes between services providers and service providers others
- Assist in case managing litigation matters including liaison with external counsel
- Develop guidelines, processes and formal legal instruments for matters related to dispute resolution
- Represent the Regulatory Authority in disputes and litigation matters
- Develop criteria and mechanism for referring decisions of the Regulatory Authority to an appeals body.
- Assist in the initiation and carrying out of all necessary enforcement action permitted under the applicable regulatory framework
- Provide legal advice on all matters related to telecommunication matters
- Represent the Regulatory Authority at regional and international events
Desirable Skills and Competencies:
- Five (5) years post-qualification experience within a telecommunications regulatory and industry environment.
- A law degree from a recognized university. Post-graduate studies in law or related discipline
- Experienced in dealing with parties to a dispute (including
- consumers) and those representing them, mediators, arbitrators and the judiciary
- Drafting of legal instruments, case reports, consultation papers etc.
- Able to work under pressure with quick turnaround ability
