About your Job:
In this role you will be responsible for developing IT strategy, planning, implementing, maintaining and managing Physical Security Systems and technologies to enable safe and secure operations at the Airport. You will oversee the architecture, design, capacity and supplier management of Physical Security Systems and technologies to meet the current business needs and future growth of the airport. You will have to ensure that the highest possible availability of the Physical Security Systems through redundant architecture and design, while optimizing the costs through standardization, building scalability and optimal usage. You are accountable for the medium to long term IT strategy for Physical Security Systems and technologies at HIA which includes integrated landside Video Surveillance System (VSS /CCTV) and Access Control System (ACS), taxiway Traffic Light Control, airside Panoramic Video Surveillance and runway Foreign Object Detection (FOD) Systems. You will also be accountable for research on emerging industry trends and initiatives for Physical Security Systems and technologies and to recommend proposals for their application at HIA to achieve tangible benefits and improve passenger experience. You will be accountable for the professional and efficient system administration, operations, documentation, maintenance and support of the above systems, developing technical expertise within the department and effective allocation of suitably qualified resources for design, implementation, technical support, system administration, business support, and projects based on their skill level and operational/strategic priorities.
You will be acountable for ITIL service management aspects of the above systems to minimize negative impact on the business by leading recovery of service failures within SLA and ensuring prompt and effective root cause analysis to avoid recurrence. You will be responsible for preparing annual budget for the above systems based on business and operational requirements, capacity planning, adoption of new technology and addressing obsolescence. You will be accountable for assessing interoperability and impact of the above systems on the IT Network and passive infrastructure capacity. You will be responsible in providing expert technical consultancy, guidance and support for the above systems to all stakeholders, team members and other IT teams for technology architecture, design requirements, project support including cost estimates, incident and problem management and system administration activities. You will regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed. You will assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program and perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
About You::
You should hold a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent. You should have relevant physical security/Information technology certifications. You should have minimum 8 years of experience in designing and implementing IT physical security technologies and solutions, architecting, designing, implementing and operating very large and complex integrated VSS and ACS systems in high-security environments, preferably at international hub airports. You should have experience of migrating, upgrading and expanding large operational VSS and ACS systems and practical understanding of airport security and safety requirements and processes and applications of video analytics.
You should be able to continually assess technology adequacy of standard platforms and induct new technology as appropriate, keeping in mind industry leadership, stability, support, cost of acquisition and replacement. You must guard HIA/QR against any technology obsolescence on the above. You are responsible for capacity planning and management of all relevant licenses as well as for ensuring the optimization of the cost of deployment at all times. You should be able to solve problems of all application/service performance issues ensuring that any performance degradation is speedily resolved and permanent steps are put in place to prevent recurrence. You should have the ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow, strong mentoring and coaching skills, with the ability to train and develop subordinate's skills and foster teamwork among team members.
