Arabic Writer/Translator

Arabic Writer/Translator – Seasonal Position
Support the Communication and Editorial teams with writing, editing and copy-editing Arabic-language text, as well as with translation of texts from English to Arabic to produce required written collateral for the Ajyal Youth Film Festival.

Specific responsibilities include:

Translate film notes and other copy for the film guide and Festival catalogue in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the Director of Programmes
Generate web content in Arabic for the Institute’s site in the lead-up to and during the Festival
Work with the Editorial, Translation and Design teams in correcting and proofing proofs in a timely manner
Sundry tasks as required
Required skills/qualifications:

Suitable Degree
3-5 years of experience in a translation role
Excellent command of Arabic and English languages (written and spoken)
Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
General knowledge of contemporary cinema/experience in film or arts writing a plus
