Woqod opens petrol station in Al Thumama area

Qatar Fuel (Woqod) has opened its 61st service station in the Al Thumama area as part of the company’s ongoing expansion plans to serve all areas in the country, it was announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Woqod CEO Saad Rashid al-Muhannadi said: “We are pleased to open this new station in Al Thumama to provide basic services to the community. 

“The new opening reflects our ambitious plans to expand our network and accessibility within Qatar in order to cater to the growing needs of the local market and ensure that high-quality products and services are available to all our customers at their convenience across the country. Woqod’s team is sincerely grateful to all the stakeholders that contributed to the completion of this project.”

With the addition of Al Thumama petrol station, the company’s branded stations network increased to 49. The new station is spread over an area of 12,313sqm area and will offer round-the-clock services, including Sidra convenience store, sale of LPG cylinders, auto wash facility, auto repair, tyre services, and sale of gasoline and diesel products, as well as special lanes for fueling trucks using high speed dispensers. 


New petrol stations coming up


Woqod is currently engaged in 28 petrol station projects and most of them are expected to be operational this year, the company announced in a statement.

The Al Thumama station, which Woqod opened on Tuesday, is equipped with Woqod’s unique RFID based electronic payment service (WOQODe).

Woqod’s expansion strategy seeks to increase the total number of service stations operated by the company to 100 by 2020.
