The Vehicles Technical Inspection Center (Fahes) in Al Mazrouah has emerged as the largest one in the country with 16 lanes of inspection at a time for light and heavy vehicles, said an official. Increasing lanes is part of the upgrading project of Fahes centers to speed up inspection procedure which helped greatly in cutting the waiting time of motorists.
“The Fahes Center in Al Mazrouah with 14 lanes for heavy vehicles and two lanes for light vehicles is offering a complete traffic services to motorists,” said Head of the Technical Inspection Section, Lieutenant Colonel Ali Jarallah Al Baridi.
Speaking to Qatar TV recently, Al Baridi said that the services provided by the Center include vehicle’s registration, renewal of road permit, issuing of number plate and others.
Speaking about the monitoring of vehicles on roads to ensure the compliance of technical and legal requirements, he said: “Traffic patrolling catches vehicles moving on roads with violations such as faded paint and damaged number plate.”
He said that all vehicles taken to inspection centers undergo complete inspection from inside and outside following the inspection rules for passing technical and legal requirements.
“Traffic Section operating in Fahes of Al Mazrouah is offering services for registration of new vehicles, heavy vehicles, renewal of road permits, transfer of ownership, issuing of number plates of vehicles and cancelling road permits,” said Al Baridi.
Fahes is operating a number of vehicles inspection centers across the country including Al Mazrouah, Al Wakra, Wukair, Al Sheehaniya, Al Egda, Industrial Area, Wadi Al Banat, Mesaimeer and Madinat Al Shamal.
To serve the motorists in a better way, Fahes has been upgrading its centers adding more lanes to increase the inspection capacity cutting the waiting time significantly.
Earlier, the capacity of Fahes at Industrial Area increased to 1,000 light vehicles daily after the center underwent renovation.
The Fahes center at the Industrial Area receives all types of light vehicles for inspection from 6am to 6pm. The center offers a number of services on fast track, including vehicles’ inspection, road permit renewal, transfer of ownership, vehicles’ statement/correction, issuance of paper for painting vehicles and paying charges of damaged number plate.
Fahes Industrial Area Center is using some of the most advanced equipment and technologies for vehicle inspection, following high levels of safety and security requirements in GCC and the world.
The vehicle inspection process of the center is fully automated and free from human intervention. The inspection reports are issued through fully computerised system.
