Winter camping season to begin on October 18

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Protection and Wildlife Department, has announced the registration process for winter camping season 2021-22, which will begin from October 18. 

The announcement was made in a press conference yesterday at the MME headquarters. Assistant Director of the Department of Natural Reserves, Salem Hussein Al Safran, and Head of the Wild Protection Department, Hadef Saif Al Mansoori addressed the press conference.

Al Safran stated that to ensure a smooth registration process this year, the Ministry introduced the initial submission of applications for camping from October 3 to 10. He said that the applicants are required to submit an initial application for a winter camp, complete the required data and information and sign a commitment pledge.

“The initial application step for camp application is essential. Those who did not apply during this period will not be allowed to register for winter camp application during the actual registration period, distributed over three days according to the land and sea camping areas,” said Al Safran. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the Aoun application of the ministry.

The registration process will be done in three phases. The registration will open on October 17 to receive applications for camping in Al Shamal, Al Ghashamiyah, Ain Mohamad, Al Nqian, Al Kharara, Mekainis, Sealine, Ras Matbakh, Arida, Zekrit, Ashiraj, and Umm Al Maa. Camping will begin on October 18 for six months.

In the second phase, the registration will start on October 19 for camping in Al Reem Reserve, Al Marona, Al Mazrouha, Umm Al Aafa’i, Al Hasham, Abu Zahlof, Al Zubara, Al Udaid, Al Khuraij South, and Bu Samra and camping will start from October 20 for six months. The third phase of registration will begin on October 21. It will be for camping in Rawdat Rashed, Rawdat Aisha, Umm Al Ezam, Al Khor, Al Waab, Al Zakhira North, Al Otouryah, Al Sane’ah, Al Khuraib North, Al Ghariyah, Al Mufair, and Ras Al Nouf. The camping will start from October 22 for six months.
