Windy, hot conditions to continue on Wednesday

Windy, dusty and hot conditions will continue in the country today, according to the forecast. The Qatar Met department said in Wednesday's detailed weather report that strong winds are expected in most areas during the daytime. Windy conditions are also likely offshore along with high seas. The wind speed may go up to 28 knots in some inshore areas during the day and 26 knots offshore at times, with the sea level rising to 8ft. It will be "very hot" and slight to blowing dust is also expected in some places during the day. Slightly dusty conditions are likely offshore, the report adds. The temperature is expected to range from 31-45C in Wakra and Mesaieed, 35-44C in Doha, 32-42C in Al Khor, 33-37C in Dukhan, 32-37C in Abu Samra and 33-35C in Ruwais. Dust and wind were reported from several places, including Doha, yesterday. The Met department tweeted in the morning about strong northwesterly winds with gust exceeding 25 knots in some places, causing blowing dust especially in open areas and low horizontal visibility. "Please be careful," it urged the public. Pictured are dusty and windy conditions in Doha yesterday. PICTURES: Shaji Kayamkulam.
