Visitors, including children, can now visit QNL without appointment

Doha: Qatar National Library (QNL) now welcomes the general public, including children, to its premises without prior appointment.

In a statement posted on its website, QNL said: "In light of the recent government announcement regarding easing COVID-19 restrictions, we’re pleased to announce that everyone can now visit the library without an appointment."

The decision came into effect on January 29, 2022, as Covid-19 restrictions were eased and students started attending classes in person.

Families and children can now visit the Children's Library through an in-library ticketing system that will be applied on weekends to ensure visitor safety and control capacity. The tickets will be issued on a first-come-first-served basis, every hour until the closing time of the library at 6:30 pm. QNL also mentioned that should the premise reach full capacity, the visitors will be asked to wait outside the Children's Library.

Furthermore, Qatar National Library's Online Resources, Qatar Digital Library and Digital Repository remain accessible for twenty-four hours seven days a week.

With the National Sports Day just around the corner, the library is also set to host events and activities this month, which will capture the sports atmosphere in the country.
