Two more succumb to Covid-19 in Qatar; 530 new cases reported on July 4

Ministry of Public Health today confirmed 530 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 1804 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered from the disease in Qatar to 90387. The Ministry also announced 2 new deaths.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar till now stands at 99183 and there are 8673 active cases. So far, 123 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 4876 tests in last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 376881 tests. There are 63 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry said that the deaths recorded today had received the necessary medical care and were aged 69 and 82 years old. 

10 patients were admitted to the intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 176.

“There has been an increase in cases among families. This is of great concern as this population group includes the highest percentage of the elderly and people with chronic conditions.  Now more than ever, we must be careful and protect the most vulnerable,” MoPH said in a statement.

The Ministry of Public Health urged anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 to contact the unified helpline (16000), or to go to one of the virus testing centers, since the earlier detection of the disease results in a better chance of recovery. 

The main screening centers include Muaither Health Center, Rawdat Al Khail Health Center, Umm Slal Health Center, and Al Gharafa Health Center.
