Turkish FM hails Qatar rescue team's efforts to contain fires

Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Mevlut Cavusoglu praised the efforts of Qatar International Search and Rescue Group in the wildland firefighting operations in his country, in coordination with the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority.

This came as the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs’ tour of the headquarters of the fire management department in Antalya, which the Qatari team is participating in.

Cavusoglu met with Staff Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Eid Al Mohannadi, commander of the Qatari team.

Qatar International Search and Rescue Group of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) continues  to participate in the firefighting and search and rescue operations, as well as providing relief and medical aid to the victims of wildfires in the Turkish state of Antalya. 

The Group, which consists of fully-equipped lifeguards, paramedics and medical staff, from yesterday provides help and takes part in keeping the current situation in the affected areas under control.
