This marked a fall of 21.4% compared to November 2021 and 47.6% compared to December 2020, the PSA said.
A total of 838 traffic accident cases were recorded during December 2021, showing a monthly increase of 12% and an annual rise of 33.2%. Minor injuries accounted for the vast majority of traffic accident cases during the same month, at 90%, followed by severe injuries at 9%. Eleven deaths were recorded, equivalent to 1% of total traffic accident cases.
Meanwhile, the demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar decreased from 2.684mn in December 2020 to 2.677mn at end of December 2021.
Regarding vital statistics, 1,741 live births were registered in December 2021 and there was a decrease in the total number of Qatari live births by 11.3% compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 185 deaths were recorded during the same period, a decrease of 8.9% compared to November 2021.
