Top 8 grand attractions in Qatar during FIFA World Cup

Doha: Fans will be able to Live it All in Qatar during the FIFA World Cup with over 90 events and attractions to complement the football atmosphere in the country. 

During the 'One Month To Go' press conference held in Doha yesterday, CEO of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC, Nasser Al Khater said: "We have curated and planned for a fan experience like no other. This will be an experience for fans that can watch more than one match a day."

"They can leave the stadium and find an array of things to do and to enjoy here in Qatar during their stay," he added. 

Among the countless fan activations during the tournament, eight of these will serve as key entertainment destinations for football, music, culture, and more. 

FIFA Fan Festival
Located at Al Bidda Park, the much-awaited FIFA Fan Festival will be the heart of all activations in the country during the competition. The site can accommodate a capacity of 40,000 fans, free-of-charge. It will showcase all 64 matches on mega screens, 100 hours of live music, and culinary experiences. The Fan Festival also has three zones: Live, Food and Play. 

This fan activation will be open from November 19 to December 18, 2022. Operating hours will be from 10am to 2am, and from 3pm to 2am during no match days. Fans may take the Corniche Metro Station, West Bay Qatar Energy Metro Station, Al Bidda Metro Station to reach the FIFA Fan Festival. 

The Corniche
The Corniche, a six-killometre fan activation from Sheraton Park to the Museum of Islamic Art,  will be transformed into the country's global street carnival with stellar performances, concerts, art, culture, and story-telling. 

With a capacity of 70,000 fans, the site will house over 150 food outlets, 4 live stages, and bedouin village. A water and pyrotechnics display called ‘Welcome to Qatar’ will also take place every day at The Corniche. It will feature music from the Qatar 2022 Official Soundtrack, Qatari composer Wael Binali and the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.

This fan activation will be open from November 19 to December 18, 2022. Operating hours will be 12pm until midnight. Fans may take the Souq Waqif Metro Station, Corniche Metro Station and West Bay Qatar Energy Metro Station. 

Ras Abu Aboud Beach 974
This beach is located right next to the 974 stadium. The 974 beach will be perfect for fans looking to enjoy water sports and activities with a view of the famous Qatar skyline. The 1.3 kilometre beach can accommodate 5,000 fans in the area which will be filled with live music and over 10 exhilirating experiences. Food and retail outlets will also be avaialble.

Fans should also note that this destination will not be operational during match days of the FIFA World Cup. The nearest metro station is the Ras Bu Abboud Metro Station. 

Lusail Boulevard
The Lusail Boulevard will be transformed  into a vibrant and colourful destination at the heart of the Lusail City with live music and concerts, street performances, and parades. The 1.3 kilometre stretch of the 60,000 capacity boulevard will also feature daily light shows and over 50 food outlets. Some activities in the site may require admission tickets. 

Anyone in Qatar can access the Lusail Boulevard from November 20 until December 18, 2022. Operating hours will be from 11am until midnight. Fans may take the Lusail QNB Metro Station to reach the fan activation. 

Hayya Fan Zone
The Hayya Fan Zone is a family-oriented destination which will include an open ice skating rink and ice ballet shows. Multimedia pavilion, and live DJs and performances will also be featured.  It will also screen all 64 matches on mega-screens placed at the site for 3,500 capacity. 

The Hayya Fan Zone is located at the Lusail Marina Promenade and will operate from November 20 to December 18, 2022. Operating hours wil be from 12 noon to 1am. Fans may take the Legtaifiya Metro Station to reach this destination. 

MDLBEAST Presents: Aravia
Welcome to the exciting 28 Aravian nights set to take place at Al Wakrah. With a capacity of 5,5000 dance music fans, the event will showcase premiere international talents and rising regional stars during over 160 hours of global shows and 56 spectacular acts. The venue will also boast breath-taking and iconic stages for a full-immersive experience. 

This event requires admission tickets to be allowed access. It will operate from 8pm until 2am on November 21 until December 18, 2022. Fans attending Aravia can take the Al Wakra Metro Station. 

Arcadia Music Festival 
Located at Ras Bu Fontas, Arcadia Music Festival awaits fans with its A-list line-ups from the global stage of techno and house music. Fans can also expect the iconic fire-breathing Spider along with a line-up of internationally renowned artists and DJs during the 15,000 capacity event. 

This event requires admission tickets to be allowed access. Aracadia Music Festival will operate from 10am to 5am on November 19 to December 16, 2022. Fans may take the Ras Bu Fontas Metro Station to reach this venue. 

Al Maha Island
More festivities are added in Lusail City with Al Maha Island poised to host fun and extreme thrills for families. A theme park, with a 395-metre tall rollercoaster, will also be placed along with more than 50 attractions. High-end restaurants, lounges and beach clubs will also be available. 

Al Maha Island is located off the coast of Marina and Tarfa Lusail area. It can accommodate 14,000 people and will start operations from November 1, 2022. Admission ticket is required.
