Things to do this weekend in Qatar (August 15-17, 2019)

Blue Man Group 

For the first time in Doha, Blue Man Group is set to stage its debut performance in Doha as part of its ongoing world tour.

Kadim Al Sahir Concert

Having sold over 100 million albums, the king of Arabic music, Kadim Al Sahir will perform in Qatar for two days. The concert is part of Summer in Qatar.

Tickets are available for sale on Virgin megastore website, with the price ranging from QR175 to QR775.

Doha Comedy Festival

This year’s Doha Comedy Festival features crossover comedians, who perform in English but bring their unique worldviews to the stage. Combining East and West are British-Iranian Omid Djalili and Lebanese-American Nemr, who will perform alongside Qatar’s own Hamad Al-Amari .

Tickets range in price from QR 175 to 475 and can be purchased online.

Eid Al Adha 2019 with Nickelodeon Rocks at MoQ

At Mall of Qatar, visitors can join Nickelodeon’s PAW Patrol’s Chase & Marshall, Shimmer & Shine, Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob in the best dance party ever on the Oasis Stage. After each show, audience members can take selfies with their favorite characters during the meet-and-greet. They can also participate in fun-filled games and experiences in the activity area located in East Gate 1.

Every day during this seven-day celebration, Mall of Qatar is also giving visitors the opportunity to sing along with Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants at 12 noon, 3.30pm, 6.30pm and PAW Patrol’s Chase & Marshall at 12.40pm, 4.15pm and 7.15pm.

South Indian International Movie Awards in Qatar

The eighth South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) will be staged in Qatar for the first time with over 200 celebrities from Indian cinema attending the two-day event. SIIMA is the most-viewed award show in the industry, with awards across four languages: Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

Legendary actors Chiranjeevi and Mohanlal will be the guests of honor. August 15 will host Kannada and Telegu and August 16 will host Malyalam and Tamil.

Tickets range in price from QR 50-3,000 and are available online.

Snow in summer

Now you can play in snow in the peak summer as Qatar gets its first-ever indoor snow themed park Snow Dunes at the Doha Festival City Mall. Spread over more than 9,500 square meters, the park offers a variety of rides and attractions suitable for the whole family.

There are Silver, Gold and Platinum packages for individuals priced at QR 190, 240 and 490.

Summer Entertainment City 2019

Summer Entertainment City has reopened as part of the Eid Al Adha celebrations. The Virtual Reality and Gaming zone has VR simulators, gaming stations and themed gaming areas for various ages.

They also have retro-gaming area for people 35 years old and above as well who can actually connect with games like Pac-Man, Atari and Sega.

The main areas include amusement rides, skills games with prizes, trampoline park, a kids driving school setup, Qatar’s first InflataPark, the world’s largest bounce castle, a skate park, synthetic ice skating, Spider Climbing tower.

Ticket prices range from QR15 QR entry to the SEC, or visitors can purchase Gold Pass for QR165, Gaming Pass for QR165, Season Pass for QR999 or Season Gaming Pass for QR1,250.

The Little Mermaid Show 2019

Lagoona Mall will be hosting 3 daily shows for ‘The Little Mermaid’ during the five days of Eid celebrations across the nation.

‘The Little Mermaid’ tells the story of a beautiful young mermaid who longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above, where she falls in love with a prince. She follows her heart and with the aid of her lovable undersea friends enlists the help of the villainous sea witch to support her on her quest.

Bou Deryah horror house

The spine-tingling Bou Deryah horror house at Souq Al Wakrah and the amazing circus at Souq Waqif are crowd-pullers and is only open till Aug 16. So hurry and get spooked at the Bou Deryah horror house.

Not for the faint of heart, Bou Deryah features 10 rooms with terrifying characters which test the courage of every visitor who enters the house open from 6pm to 10pm.

Entry to the horror house, which is a first in Souq Al Wakrah, costs QR25.

Pregnant women and children below 12 years old are not allowed.
