Temporary closure of Corniche Street from Nov 26 to Dec 4

* Fan activations to take place at Doha Corniche during FIFA Arab Cup.

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, Public Works Authority (Ashghal) and the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior, has announced a traffic closure in both directions of Corniche Street from November 26 until December 4 in conjunction with Qatar's hosting of the FIFA Arab Cup 2021.

In collaboration with Qatar Tourism and its partners, a number of activations, including the 11th Qatar International Food Festival, will take place at the Corniche as part of efforts to provide a unique experience for fans during the tournament.

Ashghal will also be progressing construction works during the closure period.

Road users are encouraged to use alternative modes of transport such as those available through Qatar Rail and Mowasalat (Karwa), during the closure period to reduce the impact on the flow of traffic.

Further details will be announced next week via media and social media channels, the SC said yesterday.

The FIFA Arab Cup will be hosted by Qatar from November 30 to December 18, with the participation of 16 teams. The matches will be held at six of the eight World Cup stadiums, namely Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakra, Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, Education City Stadium and Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.

Tickets can be bought from http://Fifa.com/tickets, while fans should apply for their Fan ID once they have paid for their match tickets and received their ticket application number by e-mail.

Applications for Fan ID can be submitted online via the host country entry portal website (FAC21.qa), where more information can be found.

Fan ID is a smart-technology identification card designed to provide fans with the ultimate experience in Qatar and will be mandatory for all ticket holders who attend FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 matches. It will serve as a means of identification and provide access to tournament stadiums in combination with a valid ticket bought through FIFA.com/tickets

Fans travelling from abroad can use their Fan ID to enter Qatar multiple times – provided they carry a valid passport recognised by Qatar. Fan ID will also provide ticket holders with access to a number of services and benefits relating to transport, tourism and others.
