Strong winds, dust expected on Tuesday: Met

Strong winds are expected in most places during the daytime on Tuesday along with dust, the Qatar Met department has said.

Windy conditions are also likely in offshore areas on Tuesday along with high seas, according to the weather report.

The wind speed may go up to 33 knots offshore and 30 knots in some places during the day inshore, with the sea level rising to 11ft at times.

The detailed forecast says it will be hot during the day with some clouds, and slight to blowing dust is also expected in some places at times. Mild conditions are likely by night.

Dusty conditions have also been forecast in offshore areas on Tuesday.

The temperature will range from 26C to 37C in Doha on Tuesday, the report says.

Doha and other parts of the country experienced windy and dusty conditions on Monday, too, leading to a drop in visibility in some places.

Accordingly, the Met department issued an advisory on how to stay safe in dusty conditions.

The department had earlier said northwesterly fresh to strong winds were expected to affect the country until Thursday noon (May 14). It urged everyone to be careful, avoid marine activities and follow latest updates through its official social media accounts.
