Souq Waqif management denies rumours about reopening of all stores

Doha: The Souq Waqif management denied the information shared on social media sites about reopening of all stores starting tomorrow (Tuesday).

Mohammed Al Salem, Director of Souq Waqif, said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that “all the news on social media sites about reopening of all stores in Souq Waqif starting tomorrow (Tuesday), from seven in the morning until one in the afternoon is unfounded.”

He pointed out that only food stores, fast food restaurants (for takeaway and delivery) and pharmacies, covered in the decision of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry are open, with strict adherence to the precautionary measures and health safety requirements for employees such as sterilization and wearing gloves and masks in the context of preparations for the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.

He added that the market administration is committed to all directives issued by the competent authorities regarding the precautionary measures against the Coronavirus, and to support all efforts made by the state to prevent this virus.
