Sheep sold for QR250,000 at Halal Festival

Halal Qatar festival, which concludes tomorrow at Katara - the Culture Village, has been receiving more visitors.

The young shepherd competition for 10-14 years old gave participants the opportunity to relive their ancestors heritage of raising sheep and goats.

The various traditional dishes, offered at some stalls, have been very popular among the different categories of visitors. A Syrian sheep was sold for QR250,000 for its rare qualities after intense competition among buyers.

Herd owners display their most beautiful sheep or goats to compete for prizes. There is also a daily auction for special breeds in addition to many entertainment activities.
