Fifty One East and Sennheiser have introduced the MKE2 Elements Microphone for GoPro HERO4 action cameras in the Qatari market.
The ActionMic for GoPro HERO4 cameras is now available in the Fifty One East store at Al Maha Center on Salwa Road, FNAC in Lagoona Mall and Doha Festival City, Virgin Megastore in Landmark, Villaggio and Doha Festival City along with major electronics retailers in Qatar.
The new microphone enables users to “capture the thrill of the moment with a high-quality audio signal to the camera for videographers even in extreme conditions such as in wind, water, snow, dust and mud”, according to a press statement.
It can also operate up to 30 minutes while submerged in water.
The MKE2 Elements Microphone is the result of the GoPro and Sennheiser collaboration to “create a high-quality microphone and an innovative wind protector for capturing audio for the HERO4 camera”. The MKE2 elements consist of a microphone mounted in an elastic suspension and covered by an innovative, replaceable windscreen.
It is part of a backdoor replacing the original one, which is mounted on every HERO4 camera. “The user just switches the doors, plugs the microphone cable to the camera, closes the cabinet and is ready to go.
No tools are required, the setup just takes a few seconds,” the statement notes.
The MKE2 is the “only microphone in the market approved by GoPro and solves the biggest problem of all HERO users, which is sound”. It provides Sennheiser quality audio to HERO4 cameras while keeping the camera hermetically sealed.
The new microphone was created and got verified as ‘Works with GoPro’ – making Sennheiser the “only audio company to have achieved such authentication”. It is made specifically for the GoPro HERO4 action camera.
