Schools, KGs to have only online classes for a week from Sunday

Due to the current pandemic situation of Covid-19 and to maintain the safety of the school environment, all public and private schools and kindergartens in the country will only have remote learning for a week from Sunday, January 2.

The announcement came from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) Friday, to maintain the safety of students as the number of community infections of Covid-19 have considerably increased.

But, the administrative staff and teachers at kindergartens and schools will continue to report to work on campus, the ministry clarified in a tweet.

The MoEHE explained that the decision has been taken in co-ordination with the Ministry of Public Health, and to follow the preventive and precautionary measures for the public good. It is also to safeguard the health and safety of the students, teachers and the administrative staff, besides making it easier for conducting the necessary Covid-19 tests.

The MoEHE urged parents to cooperate and ensure that their children follow the online remote classes for a week from Sunday.
