'Sales deals worth tens of millions of riyals' at boat show: organisers

The eighth Qatar International Boat Show (QIBS) 2021 has concluded with the participation of 36 companies, including seven Qatari boat manufacturers, which reflected the progress of the boating industry within the country.

The show, organised by Al Mannai Plus Events, attracted many marine lovers and individuals interested in the industry, who were briefed on the latest designs of advanced boats in Qatar, local and international luxury yachts, and the accessories and equipment related to the marine lifestyle, Qatar News Agency said.

The organisers stressed that the QIBS, which concluded on Saturday night, constituted a unique event as it focused on the marine industry in Qatar by launching "modern, top-class, made-in-Qatar" luxury yachts and speed boats, which attracted buyers from within and outside Qatar.

Al Mannai Plus Events CEO Hamad Issa al-Mannai said in a press release that the show, which is the only yacht, luxury boats and marine accessories exhibition in Qatar, has succeeded in attracting many local and international companies. The show witnessed sales deals "amounting to tens of millions of riyals in value" between Qatari boat manufacturers and buyers from within and outside Qatar, he pointed out.

A number of local company owners announced the signing of important deals for the sale of boats of different sizes with buyers from Qatar and abroad, and they expected high demand during the coming period due to the high quality of this industry.

The show also witnessed the launch of a 52ft speedboat, the largest-ever Qatar-made speedboat, manufactured by Performance Marine as well as the participation of 35 modern made-in-Qatar luxury boats.

The event had a section of pre-owned yachts for sale, and witnessed the launch of a number of marine equipment and products.
