Road Patrol-Qatar competition opens

Qatar Military Police Force opened the 'Road Patrol-Qatar 2021' competition, held within the framework of the International Army Games -Russia 2021. The competition is held under the patronage of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, in the presence of HE the Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem.

The competition, which will continue until August 26 with an international participation, includes several contests, including the competition of specialists, the individual race, the acceleration and emergency braking, the military-technical relay race, the team race, in addition to the extreme parallel parking, traffic regulation, extreme driving, and wheel change race.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Commander of the Military Police Forces Staff Brigadier General Rashid Mohamed al-Hajri welcomed the sponsor of the ceremony and the attendees from inside and outside Qatar, explaining that the competition highlights the skills of the military patrols and emergency response, and aims to provide opportunities for all participants to exchange experiences and knowledge, and create an atmosphere of competition.

Director of the competition Air Lieutenant Colonel Engineer Saud Mutea al-Ahbabi underlined that the organising committee provided all the appropriate conditions of infrastructure for the competition, most importantly is preparing the field according to the technical conditions, providing cars with special specifications for the competition for all teams, as well as providing everything that contestants need of equipment, weapons and ammunition in line with international standards.

He affirmed the adherence to all Covid-19 precautionary measures in order to ensure the safety of all and make this event a success.

The opening was attended by high-ranking officers of Qatar Armed Forces and sisterly and friendly countries, and a number of members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the State.
