Requests for pedestrian bridge across C-Ring Road growing

With a number of new eateries and retail outlets coming up along Al Khalidiya Street in Doha's Najma zone, there has been a phenomenal rise in the number of visitors to the area, particularly from the western side of C-Ring Road, which host a large number of villas.

This has resulted in a growing number of requests for a pedestrian bridge across the C-Ring road, from residents of both Al Hilal and Najma areas as Al Khalidya Street directly connects busy Bin Dirham Street of Najma with C-Ring Road.

Currently, people from the opposite side of the C-Ring Road in Al Hilal are climbing dangerously over the road divider sometimes, especially late in the evenings, to access the locality.

The residents on both the sides of the C-Ring road feel it is high time a pedestrian bridge is erected there considering the growing popularity of Al Khalidiya Street these days. It has also been found that many a vehicle uses the street between Bir Dirham and C-Ring Road and also in the opposite direction.

One of the residents said while the street, which was earlier known for the 'Kuwait Building', is now becoming more popular with the arrival of a number of new restaurants catering to different nationalities.
