Doha: The thrilling motorsports event Red Bull Car Park Drift is back in Doha after 3 years of wait.
Gathering all drifting enthusiasts and pros from Qatar, the event is set to take place on October 1, 2021, at the Southern Parking Lot in Katara Cultural Village. Doors will open at 5:00 pm, event starts at 6pm.
This prestigious motorsport event will be held under the patronage of Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), in partnership with Dunlop Tires, Vodafone Qatar, Al Fardan Automobiles, Katara Cultural Village, JW Marriott Marquis Doha, Al Meera Consumer Goods Company (Q.P.S.C.).
Media partners include beIN SPORTS as the exclusive TV broadcast partner, I Love Qatar as exclusive online media partner, and ProTV as production partner.
The drift face-off is expected to attract approximately 25 drifters who will put their expert skills to test behind the wheel as they take on a stimulating and exciting obstacle course inspired by the masterful Red Bull Athlete and Drifting Legend; Abdo Feghali, who will also be present on the day to supervise the event and put off a drifting show in the BMW M2 Hero Car.
Abdo Feghali expressed his excitement about the event saying: “I’m super excited to be back in Doha after 2 years for the Red Bull Car Park Drift Qatar Qualifier. Thrilled to be taking the BMW M2 for a spin on the track and can’t wait to see what the drifters have got to show us.”
The drifters will be judged based on their skill level, expertise, precision, and their creative approach for them to achieve the highest scores.
The higher the score, the closer they become to being crowned Qatar’s 2021 King of Drift as well as getting the opportunity to compete in Egypt, representing Qatar at the World Final set to be held on November 5th, 2021.
The Red Bull Car Park Drift Series has become widely known and represented by thousands of fans and motorsport enthusiasts in Qatar. This, with no doubt, comes with a high standard of safety and security including COVID protocols with the mandatory vaccination requirement along with Ehteraz and face masks on, while respecting social distancing.
These precautions will guarantee an entertaining and enjoyable environment for both the contestants and audience.
