QNL offers exciting activities at Doha International Book Fair

Qatar National Library (QNL) will feature items from its collections and host numerous special events at the Doha International Book Fair starting from January 13 to 22 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Visitors to QNL’s booth at the fair can explore items from the Heritage Library and view demonstrations of the digitisation process for heritage materials. Librarians will be on hand to answer questions and help users register for free library membership.

QNL will also hold several events throughout the fair. On January 18, the “What Will We Hear Tonight?” workshop will help parents conduct exciting story time sessions with their children. That same day, parents can also attend the lecture “Choosing the Right Children’s Books” to learn about the stages of development of child literacy and how to select the best books for young readers. On January 20, parents and educators can learn about the developmental characteristics of gifted children and the role of the community in nurturing them.

QNL booth will also host smaller activities on January 18, including Chess Club, Kitchen Science, story time and crafting.

“QNL is always excited to participate in the Doha International Book Fair, and this year’s events offer something for everyone,” said Abeer Saad al-Kuwari, director of research and learning services at QNL. “We welcome visitors of all ages to join us in expressing their creativity, exploring Qatar and its history, and sharing their favorite books. This is a great opportunity for the community to learn together in a fun and welcoming environment.”
