QNB upgrades mobile banking application

QNB, Qatar’s largest bank, has made a major update to its mobile banking application, which allows users to send cash to any mobile number in Qatar and withdraw from any of its ATMs.

The new features also offers an augmented reality option to use the camera of the customer’s mobile device to plan their route to an ATM or loyalty partner with Google Maps or Apple Maps, as well as the wide range of instant bill-payment services for Qatar Cool, Vodafone, Ooredoo and Kahramaa with enhanced status tracking.

Customers can now also register their devices with a one-time SMS PIN for easier access, thereby allowing them to log-in afterwards without need for an SMS PIN. The application also introduces several other new convenience features which make payments from accounts and cards simpler than ever, as well as options to recover a forgotten username or change or securely reset a forgotten password, change a security hint question, and being the first in Qatar to offer 3D touch support (on iPhone 6S and later models).

The application also retains the numerous features offered by its previous versions, including QNB global account view, the ability to pay card balances, view loan details, make transfers within QNB and to anywhere in the world as well as by Western Union, make remote cheque deposits for QNB First, request cheque books, view and redeem life rewards points or locate partners, quickly apply for QNB products, chat with QNB customer care, locate QNB ATMs and branches, get appointments with the bank, check interest and forex rates.

The QNB Mobile app is available on iPhones, Android smartphones, and with a distinguished landscape oriented version specialised to iPads and Android tablets (QNB Mobile for Tablets), as well as on innovative Tablet Kiosks in QNB branches in English, Arabic, and French.

It is downloadable from the app stores by searching for “QNB Mobile” or “QNB Mobile for Tablets for those customers who desire to use the tablet optimised version.
