Doha: Due to continuous decrease in visibility in some parts of the country, Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) listed a few driving tips to ensure safety during fog formations.
The safe driving tips include:
1. Use fog lights and low beams
2. Don't use emergency lights and high beams.
3. Stick to the lane you are driving in.
4. Avoid overtaking and changing lanes.
5. Be alert and listen for any hazards that may be ahead.
6. Use your defroster and wipers to maximize your vision.
7. Slow down your vehicle and drive at a speed that suits the conditions.
8. Allow more distance between vehicles.
In a recent post shared by QMD on Twitter, it forecasts chances of mist to fog formation during night and early morning from January 16 (Saturday) to January 18 (Monday). This weather condition "causes a drop in the horizontal visibility to less than 2km or zero visibility at times."
QMD urged all citizens and residents to take extra precaution to ensure safety during this weather condition.
