Qatar Development Bank (QDB) is facilitating a Business Incubation and Acceleration Hackathon, providing a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs in Qatar to drive innovation in the realm of digital transformation. This initiative aims to support and nurture local talent by offering them a conducive environment to develop and refine their ideas. By bringing together like-minded individuals and industry experts, the Hackathon fosters collaboration, creativity, and knowledge sharing. Through this event, QDB is empowering Qatari entrepreneurs to explore cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and Internet of Things, and leverage them to transform various sectors. The Business Incubation and Acceleration Hackathon serves as a catalyst for the growth and development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Qatar, ultimately contributing to the country's economic diversification and digital advancement.
The winners will have the chance to continue their entrepreneurial journeys after they are notified by the end of June. The top teams will also possibly have access to early-stage financing and support services, as well as a pre-investment prize of up to QR25,000 to continue developing their concepts.
Additionally, winners will receive direct access to QDB's incubation and acceleration programmes, as well as its network of local and foreign coaches, to assist them in creating prototypes and starting businesses.
The Qatar FinTech Hub (QFTH) will support startups in the financial technology sector to push boundaries and drive innovation, both locally and globally, while the Qatar Business Incubation Centre (QBIC) will oversee projects that use digital design and cutting-edge programming to transform operations for businesses and consumers.
While Ooredoo's Digital & Beyond Incubator will oversee digital solutions on how to improve and develop customer experience through telecommunication and digital services, Qatar SportsTech (QST) will be in charge of directing projects centred on sports technology and its issues. On the other side, the management of fashiontech and design solutions will fall under the purview of the Scale 7 Incubator.
