Ooredoo renews support for Doha Cycling Team, to launch Ooredoo Academy for Cycling

* Ooredoo continues support for promotion of healthy, active lifestyle with latest CSR initiative

Ooredoo has announced that it is to renew its support for the Doha Cycling Team, and will launch the Ooredoo Academy for Cycling.

The Doha Cycling Team, which was established in 2017 and now has more than 700 members, aims to integrate cycling into Qatari culture and spread awareness of the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle.

The team organises regular cycling programmes for both children and adults, and takes part in local and international cycling events.

Ooredoo’s sponsorship gives the telecommunications operator naming rights for a state-level competition, Ooredoo branding on team and participant shirts, branding opportunities at school and university visits and promotion across the team’s social media platforms, a press statement notes.

Moza Khalid al-Muhannadi, director of CSR, Sponsorship and Media at Ooredoo, said: “We’re delighted to be continuing our support for the Doha Cycling Team, and excited for the upcoming launch of the Ooredoo Academy for Cycling. The sport is rapidly increasing in popularity in Qatar, and is a great way for citizens and residents to get out and get active. We’re committed to promoting the importance of a healthy, balanced lifestyle as part of our corporate social responsibility strategy, and this sponsorship is the ideal opportunity for us to demonstrate this commitment in a practical way.”
