Qatari Embassies organise Qatar 2022 promotional events

Doha: Several diplomatic missions of the State of Qatar abroad continued to organise various events to promote the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

In Tirana, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Albania, in cooperation with the Municipality of Tirana, and the Qatar Charity office in Albania, organised a sports event to promote the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Albania HE Ali bin Hamad Al Marri, Mayor of Tirana Municipality HE Erion Veliaj, President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee Fidel Ylli, several Albanian officials, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to Albania, and some business, Sports, and media personalities.

During the event, promotional videos about Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 were screened, as well as a football match was held.

In San Jose, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Costa Rica, HE Dr. Khamis bin Rashid Al Kaabi participated in the ceremony invited by HE President of the Republic of Costa Rica President Rodrigo Chaves Robles, to bid farewell to the Costa Rican football team heading to Doha to participate in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

On the other hand, the Ambassador gave an introductory presentation about the State of Qatar, its culture, and its latest preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, to a group of students and supervisors from the American International School of Costa Rica, who were nominated to participate in the Generation Amazing Festival on the sidelines of the World Cup.

In Nicosia, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Cyprus organized a celebration in Freedom Square (Platia Eleftherias) in the center of the capital, Nicosia, which included a display of posters and 3D models of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums.

In Brasilia, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Federative Republic of Brazil held an event on the occasion of Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

In his opening speech, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Brazil HE Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Abdullah stressed the readiness of the State of Qatar to host the most important sporting event in the world, pointing out that this is the first time that an Arab and Muslim country in the Middle East hosts the World Cup.

HE the Ambassador referred to the modern infrastructure, new roads and metro lines connected to the stadiums that the State of Qatar has built.

His Excellency reiterated the State of Qatar's welcome to fans from all over the world of all walks of life, remarking that the State of Qatar, and since it won the bid to organise the tournament, has been subjected to a campaign that no host country has faced before.

In her speech before the event, Secretary-General of Sports of the Federal District in the Federative Republic of Brazil HE Giselle Ferreira de Oliveira praised Qatar's preparations for the organisation of the World Cup, be it the modern infrastructure or the modern stadiums built to host the tournaments matches.

She also affirmed Brazil's support for Qatar in organizing the World Cup and expressed wishes for the country's success in organising the tournament.

For his part, Director of the Middle East Department at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Sydney Romero stressed that the preparations made by the State of Qatar are a positive indicator of the success of the tournament, stressing that the negative campaign against Qatar cannot impede the course of the tournament, wishing the State of Qatar success in organised.

The ceremony was attended by several officials in the Federal District, heads of Arab and foreign missions accredited to Brazil, businessmen and banks, and the Vice President of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.

In Tokyo, HIH Member of the Imperial Family, and Honorary President of the Japan Football Association (JFA) Princess Takamado met at the State Guest House, Akasaka Palace, with HE Qatar's Ambassador to Japan Hassan bin Mohammed Al Emadi.

During the meeting, bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries were reviewed.

The Ambassador gave an explanation to Princess Takamado, about the latest preparations of the State of Qatar to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and welcomed the visit of Her Imperial Highness the Princess to Qatar, wishing all the success for the Japanese team in the tournament.

In Naypyidaw, the Charge d'Affairs at the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Dr. Rashid bin Abdullah Al Kuwari held a sports event in Yangon, as part of the promotion of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The event was attended by several government officials, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Myanmar, representatives of the Myanmar Football Federation, athletes, public figures, embassy members and their families.

The event included a presentation of Qatar's latest preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the events accompanying the tournament, as well as a photo exhibition to highlight tourist attractions, and various activities were organised, including football.
