Qatar, US renew commitment to partnership on combating terror

The 3rd Qatari-American Dialogue on Counter-Terrorism has been held in Washington, DC.

Qatar’s delegation was headed by Chairman of the National Counter Terrorism Committee Major-General Engineer Abdulaziz al-Ansari, while the US side was headed by the Co-ordinator for Counter-terrorism in the US Department of State Nathan Sales.

The dialogue sessions at the US Department of State focused on four key themes – regional threats; strategic partnerships; topics related to anti-terrorism, anti-money laundering and terrorist financing laws and aviation security and information exchange, as well as the exchange of experiences on the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Positive spirit and constructive outlook between the two sides prevailed the dialogue sessions, where both parties renewed their commitment to the existing strategic partnership and the continuity of co-operation in combating terrorism in accordance with the related international resolution.
