Qatar University: Gradual return to in-person classes from September 12

Doha: Qatar University (QU) has announced a gradual return to in-person attendance on campus in close coordination with the relevant authorities in the State.

QU indicated that it has prepared the campus for the safe return of the first group of students to resume study on Sunday, September 12.

The first group includes students enrolled in the courses offered by the Health Cluster (Faculty of Medicine, College of Dentistry, College of Pharmacy, and College of Health Sciences), the foundation level courses, and UNIV100 and UNIV200 seminars.

The university has said that postgraduate students and students registered in practical courses would continue to receive their lectures on the campus.

The University called on students to ensure that the green status appears in the EHTERAZ app, wear face masks in closed places, maintain social distancing and other directives issued by the Ministry of Public Health.

Concerning students from the most at-risk groups, QU stressed the need to submit a request for exemption from attending lectures on campus, accompanied by certificates that include an explanation of the health status and a doctor's recommendation regarding whether or not to attend, provided that they are issued by Hamad Medical Corporation or the Primary Health Care Corporation via the following link (https://forms.office.com/r/g7T7tsWeP0).

QU underlined that it would closely follow the main indicators of the educational process on the campus in light of the security and safety procedures and the health situation in the country in general.

Teams concerned will follow up any observations or inquiries that the University’s employees may have to achieve their safe return.
