During the meeting, which was held via video communication technology, Qatar was represented by Director General of the General Directorate of Civil Defence Brigadier General Hamad Othman al-Duhimi and Secretary of the Civil Defence Council Colonel Ahmed al-Abdullah.
The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction was represented by Ricardo Mina, Director of the Office, and Sujit Mohanty, Director of the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction — Regional Office for Arab States.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening co-operation frameworks between Qatar and the UN office in the areas of disaster risk reduction, the opening of a global office for disaster risk reduction with sustainable infrastructure and other related topics.
