Qatar Steel organised a blood donation campaign at the company’s headquarters in Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC) in collaboration with the Blood Donor Centre of Hamad Medical Corporation. The humanitarian drive was held as part of “enhancing the commitment of Qatar Steel and its employees towards the community”, the company said in a statement.
The campaign’s aim is to raise awareness on the importance of blood donation as a humanitarian initiative.
Qatar Steel stressed that its employees “responded remarkably to the campaign and commended this initiative, which encourages humanitarian activities and is part of the efforts to foster the company’s attitude and standing towards social responsibility”.
“This campaign is part of the company’s strategic goals,” said Qatar Steel chief human capital officer Issa Hassan al-Hajri. “We are proud to co-operate with the Blood Donor Centre of Hamad Medical Corporation. I would like to thank all the blood donor employees for their valued volunteering in the campaign to make it a great success. We hope we have contributed to enhancing awareness of the importance of donation and volunteer work.
“The blood donation campaign is an important part of the company’s social responsibility concept. It is key in spreading the concept of humanitarian giving and volunteer work in the society.”
