Qatar reports one death and 421 Covid-19 cases on July 17

Ministry of Public Health today recorded 421 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 429 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 102597. The Ministry also announced one death due to Covid-19. 

Ministry announced the death of a person aged 85, who was receiving necessary medical care.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is  105898 and there are 3148 active cases under treatment. So far, 153 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar. Ministry conducted 4923 tests in last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 435584 tests. There are 41 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.

Seven patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 132.

“There has been an increase in cases among families. This is of great concern as this population group includes the highest percentage of the elderly and people with chronic conditions.  Now more than ever, we must be careful and protect the most vulnerable,” MoPH said in a statement.

The Ministry of Public Health urged anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 to contact the unified helpline (16000), or to go to one of the virus testing centers, since the earlier detection of the disease results in a better chance of recovery. 

The main screening centers include Muaither Health Center, Rawdat Al Khail Health Center, Umm Slal Health Center, and Al Gharafa Health Center
