Qatar participates in 34th meeting of Council of Arab Transport Ministers

Doha: The State of Qatar participated in the 34th meeting of the Council of Arab Transport Ministers, which took place at the headquarters of the Arab League’s General Secretariat. 

The State of Qatar’s delegation was chaired by Permanent Representative of Qatar to the Arab League, H E Ambassador Salem Mubarak Al Shafi

The draft agenda for the session includes a number of topics related to the Arab transport sector that were discussed by the executive office on Monday. 

Other topics include recommendations made to support the Palestinian economy, and the report of the first meeting of the technical committee supervising the implementation of the Arab agreement to regulate passenger transport on roads between and through Arab countries, and a proposal to establish a comprehensive Arab electronic platform for transport with the aim of facilitating trade between Arab countries.

The draft agenda also includes discussing the final version of the sixth draft of the draft agreement regulating maritime transport of passengers and goods between Arab countries and a guiding study on a proposal to establish national maritime gatherings in the Arab countries, and discussing ways to finance a comprehensive feasibility study for the project to establish an Arab mechanism and database to support the field of ship repair and construction industry In Arab Countries. 

The draft agenda also includes discussing the final version of the sixth draft of the agreement regulating maritime transport of passengers and goods between Arab countries and a study on a proposal to establish national maritime gatherings in the Arab countries, in addition to discussing ways to finance a comprehensive feasibility study for a project establishing an Arab mechanism and database to support the field of ship repair and construction in Arab Countries.
