Qatar, Libya sign MoU on security cooperation

Doha: Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met at his Amiri Diwan office yesterday morning with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Libya in the Government of National Accord, H E Mohamed Al Taher Siala, and Libya's Minister of Interior, H E Fathi Ali Bashagha, and their accompanying delegation, on the occasion of their visit to the country.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral cooperation and relations and the means to enhance and develop them, in addition to discussing the latest developments in Libya.

Separately, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani also met Libya's Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Interior, and their accompanying delegation, on the occasion of their visit to the country.

The meeting dealt with reviewing bilateral cooperation and ways to improve it in different fields, particularly in the security fields. They also discussed the latest developments in Libya, and issues of joint interest.

Following the meeting, H E Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani and Their Excellencies the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Interior witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of security cooperation between the two countries’ ministries of interior that aims to enhance cooperation in the security field to benefit the interests of the two countries.
