The embassy launched the Qatar pavilion legacy programme on the sidelines of the forum, guided by the principles of sustainable development.

Under the programme, all the pavilion’s furniture (2,000sq m) was donated to the opening of the "Qatar Science and Education Space" in various Russian regions.

During the opening ceremony, embassy Second Secretary Abdullah al-Saei highlighted the positive development in the bilateral relations, and stressed the interest in expanding the relations with the Russian regions in various fields, including academic, scientific and educational.

He noted the importance of studying the Arabic language to enhance communication and relations between the two sides, and encouraged students to study Arabic.

Al-Saei called on university students to actively participate in the "Doha Prize" Arabic Language Competition.

The Qatar embassy awards winners in this competition a one-year scholarship at Qatar University to study the Arabic Language.

For his part, Prof Rabadanov appreciated the opening the centre at the university, which is one of the oldest and largest universities in the south of Russia, and expressed the hope that the centre would promote further co-operation with universities in Qatar.

The centre is set to provide scientific and research services to the university's specialised students and teachers, and those interested in the Arabic language, and Qatar's culture and its development history.

The co-operation between the Dagestan State University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), and the embassy of Qatar has been developing since 2020, when the university initiated projects on the Arabic language and cultural heritage in partnership with the HBKU, with the support of the embassy.

Students of the Dagestan State University participate annually in the Arabic language competition in Doha.
