Qatar Covid-19 cases cross 300 on Sept 22

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 313 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 226 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 120,766.

Out of the 313 new cases, 296 are community cases and 17 from travellers returning from abroad.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 123,917 and there are 2940 active cases under treatment. So far, 211 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 4590 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 734,141 tests. There are 46 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital to 418.

Five patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 66.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing.

- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.

- Wearing a face mask.

- Washing hands regularly
