Qatar Charity (QC) has honoured several teachers of its ‘Noon’ platform, which is concerned with remote teaching and training, for their dedicated efforts to raise the level of knowledge of individuals as well as for their educational role in the betterment of society.
The honouring of teachers came as part of the celebration of World Teachers’ Day, which is observed annually on October 5.
Qatar Charity marked the day with the theme ‘Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future’, focusing on the works of educators.
Jassim Mohamed al-Emadi, director of the Local Development Department at QC, said: “As Qatar Charity pays considerable attention to education, it marked World Teachers’ Day to shed light on the position of educators and appreciate their inspiring role in building generations.”
He also praised the teachers for their tremendous efforts in providing education under the current challenging circumstances due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He pointed out that QC launched ‘Noon’, a distance-teaching, training and empowering platform, to meet the cultural, educational and social needs of society in these times of adversity.
The teachers expressed delight at being honoured by Qatar Charity on World Teachers’ Day.
Alawiya Hassan Mohamed, one of them, thanked QC for the honour that contributed to raising the morale of teachers, noting that the ‘Noon’ platform contributed to the easy delivery of information to students, creating a friendly relationship between the teachers and students and providing an encouraging environment for learning. Teacher Afaf Abdul Razzaq described the honour as an unexpected and wonderful surprise. Mohamed Abdel Moneim stressed that the honour has come in recognition of the positive impact that a teacher leaves on the lives of students, while Mohamed Tharwat termed the recognition as a “beautiful gesture” from Qatar Charity to celebrate the importance of teachers’ role in the life of the individual and society, adding that the recognition encourages them to make more efforts in spreading knowledge. Qatar Charity had marked World Teachers’ Day last year with various competitions, with the participation of 90 teachers from Asian schools in Doha. The teachers were honoured by QC.
