Qatar Charity delegation visits Kosovo in 'Ramadan of Hope' drive

Qatar Charity (QC), as part of its ‘Ramadan of Hope’ drive, organised a field visit for a delegation of Qatari volunteers to Kosovo.

The visit comes to follow up and monitor the implementation of the Ramadan campaign's projects and the conditions of those sponsored by QC - underprivileged families and widows and orphans - to assess their needs.

The delegation included several employees of QC, a group of Qatari activists and volunteers, in addition to media personalities and social media influencers.

They participated in distributing food packages that contained essential items to underprivileged families, benefiting 110 households.

The group visited an underprivileged family which was on the waiting list for sponsorship, and they were sponsored on the same day with the support of philanthropists in Qatar.

The team participated in the collective Iftar of orphans who receive training at the Qatar Training Centre, and visited the home of an orphaned girl sponsored by QC.

The Qatari delegation visited many economic empowerment projects implemented by QC, such as the 120sqm greenhouse that produces strawberries and various vegetables, and employs 13 family members.

The group visited a residential complex, built by QC and comprising 40 homes, a school, a mosque, a clinic, a social centre, shops, and an administrative headquarters. More than 8,000 people benefit from its services.

The Qatari delegation also visited the project site of the ‘Islamic Cultural Centre’, which will have four storeys, including three which will be a mosque with a capacity of 1,300 people and a floor with shops, a library and Qur'an learning classrooms.

Many food security, apiary, and sheep farming projects were also visited by the delegation. Another QC team had recently visited southern Turkey to participate in the distribution of food packages, and follow up on the projects being implemented under the ‘Ramadan of Hope’ drive in the Syrian refugee camps in Turkey.
