Qatar Balloon Festival Set to Return in December

Doha: The highly anticipated Qatar Balloon Festival is making a grand return for its fourth edition, scheduled to take place at Katara from December 7 to December 18, 2023.

Promising a diverse range of entertainment and activities for visitors of all ages, the festival will showcase over 50 hot air balloons in various shapes and colors. Attendees can enjoy a family-friendly area featuring inflatable castles and an array of games for children, explore a food court offering international street food, and experience the VIP Majlis for special guests.

Building on the success of the previous edition, giant kites have been added to the display, allowing visitors to launch their own kites and contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.

Hassan Al Mousawi, CEO of Safe Flight Solutions, the organizer of Qatar Balloon Festival, highlighted Katara's strategic selection as the venue. He emphasized its convenient location with easy access via metro and ample parking space, along with breathtaking panoramic views of the Doha skyline.

Dr. Buthaina Al Janahi, Head of Communications from Qatar Tourism, expressed the ongoing collaboration with Qatar Balloon Festival as a strategic partner. The partnership aims to promote Qatar as an enticing tourist destination for international visitors, aligning with the 2030 vision and providing exciting activities for the local community.

Salem Al Marri, Public Relations & Communications Department Manager, underlined the significance of organizing the festival at Katara, a cultural and strategic partner. He extended his wishes for everyone to enjoy the diverse activities and have fun during the event.

The festival will feature morning flights at sunrise, taking off from various locations determined the night before based on wind direction and weather conditions. To stay updated on the takeoff locations, those interested can follow the festival's social media channels.

In a bid to encourage public participation, the festival is offering 1,000 subsidized hot air balloon ride tickets at QAR 499. These tickets, available for booking through asfary.com, the premier online portal for local activities and travel, can be used for flights from the festival start date until March 31, 2024.
