Qatar Airways supports QCS-organised fun day for children at Kidzania

Qatar Airways supported Qatar Cancer Society’s (QCS) Kidzania fun day for 30 children living with cancer, as part of its continuous efforts to give back to the community.
This initiative is part of the ‘children living with cancer’ support programme launched by QCS to empower children diagnosed with cancer and to provide emotional support them and their families.
Qatar Cancer Society Chairman, Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Jabor Al Thani, said: “QCS’s participation in this event is a continuation of its effort towards the support and empowerment of individuals living with the disease. Furthermore, QCS is a strong advocate for raising awareness on preventing cancer and emphasising the importance of early detection. These events encourage children to have fun, create, explore and come together to make the world a better place. “
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “Qatar Airways takes pride in extending a helping hand to organisations such as Qatar Cancer Society that highlight the importance of providing both, emotional and medical assistance. We are dedicated towards the initiatives put in place for the improvement and support of the local community, which is an integral part of Qatar Airways values. We hope that this visit brightens their day and brings a smile to their faces.”
Qatar Cancer Society Acting Head of Business Development, Zakariya Karazoun said: “We hope that such engagements with children living with cancer will inspire and encourage other organisations in Qatar to actively contribute in increasing community awareness about cancer and support those living with the disease.”
The fun day started with the arrival of the children and their families to KidZania, where they were greeted by Qatar Airways mascots, Orry, Orah, Orryx, and their three furry friends – Kamil the camel, Faaiz the falcon and Farrah the desert fox, who distributed bags of goodies to the children, provided by Qatar Duty Free.
The children then enjoyed the child sized interactive city, which is aimed at inspiring young people through role playing activities. Furthermore, the Qatar Airways branded Aviation Academy gave an opportunity for the children to immerse themselves in the world of aviation and travel by taking on roles such as pilots and cabin crew.
