Public Prosecution providing 70% services digitally

Doha: The Public Prosecution has succeeded in providing 70 percent of its services electronically. These services are available through the Public Prosecution website and a newly-launched mobile application, in addition to self-service devices.

The Public Prosecution launched recently a new version of the electronic services application on smart mobile devices providing 46 different services. The new Public Prosecution electronic services programme is the second version of the application launched in 2016.

“The launch of the new application aims at providing most of the services in a digital form and to ensure that people are facilitated without any need to visit the Public Prosecution headquarters or other service centres,” said Khaled Al Otaibi, Head of Information Technology Policies and Planning Department at the Public Prosecution.

While speaking to Qatar TV, he added: “The new mobile application launched by the Public Prosecution, in addition to other e-platforms, succeeded in reducing visitors to the Public Prosecution by high percentage. The new version of the application is available in Arabic and English.”  The mobile application also allows logging in through the government authentication system, while the Public Prosecution provides a technical support centre. Only 30 percent of services are provided through the Public Prosecution headquarters and other service centres, the official added.

The new app comes in line with the Public Prosecution’s goal of achieving international standards for digital access and providing services to public round-the-clock.

Al Otaibi noted that individuals as well as public and private institutions can benefit from the app services.

It also benefits the legal representatives of companies, where they can access the communications, in addition to lawyers who are registered with the Ministry of Justice. The application provides many services, including inquiring about communications, requests and rulings, registering and following up on complaints, submitting requests, electronic payment of fines, viewing session dates, obtaining a photocopy of the communication file and many other services.
