Philippine embassy extends temporary closure

The Philippine embassy in Doha has announced that its temporary closure has been extended until January 9 after its personnel tested positive for Covid-19. The embassy will resume operations on January 10. “In the RT-PCR tests conducted on Embassy personnel on January 2, laboratory results have revealed that some personnel have tested positive for Covid-19. Some personnel have also started to exhibit symptoms and are now being closely monitored by the Embassy. “Embassy personnel who have tested positive for Covid-19 will quarantine for 14 days at home while the rest will undergo home quarantine for seven days and will be tested again on Saturday, January 8,” Philippine ambassador Alan L Timbayan said in a circular issued yesterday (January 4).
