PHCC app allows requesting appointments for several clinics

Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC)’s ‘Nar’aakom’, bilingual mobile application that provides comprehensive services to patients, now allows to request new or reschedule appointments for a number of clinics.

PHCC has said that appointments could be fixed or rescheduled for patients or their dependents for health education, family physician, smoking cessation, student health assessment, dietetics, medical commission, well baby and COVID-19 vaccine clinics at designated health centres.

“The e-service allows you to request for new appointments for yourself and dependents from a list of clinics that are available for direct booking. You can also reschedule your upcoming appointment to a different date,” PHCC said on its social media accounts.

A patient can select from three preferred dates and timings for the appointment and will then receive a confirmation SMS with a reference number. The Health Center reception staff will review and validate the request submitted and then call the patient to confirm date and time for appointment. Once confirmed, they book the appointment through the system and the patient receives a confirmation SMS for the appointment.

PHCC has made it easy for the people in Qatar to access digitised services for its 28 health centres, by making health care services easily accessible via smartphones.

During COVD-19, PHCC has accelerated its digital transformation to facilitate no/minimal-contact care delivery by carrying-out virtual consultations over the phone and video, establishing a 24x7 Community Call Center, and an electronically dispensed medication facility that provides home-delivery service.

The new mobile app, Nar’aakom, provides complete management of services from keeping track of the health card expiry date and online renewal, to accessing the assigned health center and finding your personal assigned family physician. Nar’aakom also allows to change the health centre when required and family physician at the registered health centre.

Available for both iPhones and Android devices, the Nar’aakom application can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store in Qatar.
Nara’akom App has also launched a survey that aims at learning about patient experience at PHCC and e services.

PHCC has more than 2,150,587 registered individuals. More 4000 clinicians serve across 28 health centers. Around 85 services are provided by PHCC and it has seen an approximate of more than 10,000 patient visits daily in 2021. Among the patient visits in 2021, 2,475,235 were for family medicine, 289,086 for dental, 138,727 for specialty clinics and 81,500 for urgent care.
