Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced the closure of one lane of Omar Al Mokhtar Street and Al Bidda Street starting from the street known as Al Mussalla Street and for 2.5 Km towards Lekhwair Intersection as well as the closure of one lane of Al Markhiya Street starting from Lekhwair Intersection and for 0.5 Km towards Qatar Sports Club.
In coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, this change will be implemented on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 for a period of 2 months to enable completion of infrastructure works and installation of new traffic signal, as part of the first phase of the upgrading works on some streets in West Bay Area project.
During this time, three lanes will remain open for traffic on Omar Al Mokhtar, Al Bidda and Al Markhiya Streets as well as right turns towards intersecting streets.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the temporary closure. Ashghal urged all road users to abide by the speed limit, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
