Over 90,000 tonnes of waste, garbage removed in February

The General Cleanliness Department removed around 68,864 tonnes of waste and garbage in February, in addition to 22,104 tonnes of randomly discarded waste and garbage.

As many as 6,492 damaged tyres, 30 damaged road signs, 689 animal carcasses and 161 abandoned vehicles were removed.

Further, 183 violation notices of the public hygiene law were issued.

The department handled 1,394 related applications of the public, provided 459 new garbage containers, and cleaned 14,232.
